Frederike Moormann is a radio and sound artist, sonic writer and artistic researcher based in Leipzig. 

She studied Physics, History and Philosophy at LMU Munich and King’s College London, as well as media arts at Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig.

Her practice combines archival exploration, experimental writing, voice composition, field recording and us often unfolding through interdisciplinary and cross-border collaborations. She works on sound installations, performative activations, radio art pieces, audiowalks, and artistic research.

Her recent works are engaging with memory cultures, colonial echoes & presence, industrial landscape and the evolving relationship between humans and technology.

In her teaching she intertwines multidicsiplinary approaches, conceptual work as well as technical skills. Since 2020, she has been teaching at the Experimental Radio of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar as artistic assistant. There she participated in the transcultural artistic research project “Listening to the World”.
